• Always inspect the tree stand, PERCH® platform, BATTLEMENT platform, BATTLEAXE platform, BERSERKER Saddle, ropes, safety gear, and SteppLadder® climbing system thoroughly for signs of wear or damage BEFORE each use. Always inspect to ensure that ropes/equipment are not frayed, worn, loose or damaged. Use only manufacturer-approved replacement ropes.

• Always wear and properly use a Full Body Fall Arrest Harness System (FBFAHS) or a saddle harness system consisting of the harness with linemen’s belt. Wear a FBFAHS or saddle harness every time you leave the ground, including while ascending or descending. Failure to wear a FBFAHS or saddle harness can result in serious injury or death.

• Always select a safe tree. Carefully inspect the tree being climbed prior to use. Never use WEI products on a dead, dying, leaning or loose barked tree. Never use WEI products on a utility pole. Use of these products on a dead, dying, leaning or loose barked tree or a utility pole can result in serious injury or death.

• Always face the tree when ascending or descending while using the SteppLadder® climbing system.

• Always maintain a firm hold on the SteppLadder® climbing system when ascending or descending.

• Always use extra caution when high winds, ice, snow, wet, dark or low-light conditions or other inclement weather conditions exist. 

• Always practice and familiarize yourself with the SteppLadder® climbing system, the PERCH® platform, and other WEI products at ground level, before using in the field.

• Always tell a reliable person where you will be when climbing and when you will return.

• Always have a plan in place for rescue, including carrying survival gear, an emergency signal device and cell phone, in case of a fall, injury or other accident.

• Always remove logs, rocks, equipment and other obstructions from below the tree you are climbing.

• Never use a tree stand, the PERCH® platform, the SteppLadder® climbing system, or other WEI products after consuming or being under the influence of alcohol, medications or drugs. Use of the WEI products after consuming alcohol, medications or drugs can result in serious injury or death.

• Never use WEI products if you have a medical or physical condition that would impair or limit your ability for safe and proper use.

• Never use WEI products if you are tired or drowsy.

• Never hurry or rush while using WEI products. When using the SteppLadder ® climbing system always maintain three points of contact with the climbing system (this means having two hands and one foot or one hand and two feet in contact with the climbing system at all times.)

• Never climb or use the SteppLadder® climbing system with a weapon or any equipment in your hands or on your back. Never carry any loads that can cause you to lose your balance. Use a pull-up rope or haul line to raise and lower your weapon(s) and equipment.

• Never modify, alter or remove components from your SteppLadder® climbing system or safety devices, except when replacing with authentic SteppLadder® replacement ropes.

• Never lend any WEI products to others unless they have read and understand all warnings and instructions and have practiced and familiarized themselves with the SteppLadder® climbing system, the PERCH® platform, and other WEI products.

• The purchase and use of WEI products constitutes a knowing and voluntary agreement to indemnify, defend, release and hold harmless Wild Edge, Inc., its principals, directors, officers, agents, managers, employees and each of its Affiliates, directors, officers, agents, managers and employees from and against any and all liability, loss, damage, expense (including reasonable attorney fees and expenses) and costs (collectively all Liability) that Wild Edge, Inc. may be required to pay to one or more individuals or third parties resulting from or arising out of a personal injury claim, wrongful death claim or other civil claim of any person as a result of the use of the SteppLadder ® climbing system, the PERCH ® platform or other WEI products. Purchaser further agrees not to sue Wild Edge, Inc., its principals, directors, officers, agents, managers, employees and each of its Affiliates, directors, officers, agents, managers and employees for any and all potential claims, demands, or causes of action, which are in anyway connected with the use of this product.
